Steve Smashes Another One

Only 2 games for Rebels last weekend the U8's and U14's .

The U8's had a great game against the Lions with all players showing major improvements to there skill levels with some excellent batting, base running and fielding. We have some real stars of the future coming through our juniors which is great to see. Rebels won 33 to 10

The U14's also played a excellent game against Lions Gold who were leading the comp by 2 points. The game was close throughout until the Rebels batters started to string together a couple of hits and Steve Hughes smashing one over to right field for a home run (it was huge) Rebels won the game 7 to 6. This means we finish on top of the comp with Lions Gold but Lions Gold finish Minor Premiers with a better for and against congratulation to Lions. The U14's take on Dodgers this weekend in the first final hoping to win to advance to the Grand Final a week later good luck to all teams in the finals

The Big Hitters Let Loose on the Dodgers

A wet weekend for the Rebels sore just 1 result the U12's up against the inform Dodgers. Starting pitcher for the Rebels did a great job holding the Dodgers batters to just 1 run after 2 innings. This allowed the Rebels batters to take control of the game with some sensational hitting, with a double to Brooke Hanna and a man of the match Home Run to Kyle Cross. Coach Evatt then made a pitching change bringing on Jackson McAlpine to shut the Dodgers down for the rest of the game. Rebels 10 Dodgers 1.

Rebels U14's

Well we let this one get away

Rebels played Lions Gold and every thing was on track for a win against the equal leaders of the comp until the bottom of the 3rd inning. We were up 10 to 4 when Lions hit in 5 runs to take the score to 10 to 9. Lions made a pitching change and Rebels were unable to trouble the scores with some good pitch by the Lions. The Lions then tied up the game and with a impressive bunt with loaded bases scored the winning run. With a few players out today the guys realy did play well with Nathan Marks having a go at catching for the first time and doing a great job. This might be just the shake up we need going into the finals in a couple of weeks.

Rebels U12's
The under 12's had a hard matchup against Lions Black with the Rebels taking it out 11 to 9. There were some impressive performances by Man of the match Ben Marks and both Rebels pitchers Cody Hansen and Jackson McAlpine. Coach Evatt said he was impressed with how his players stayed focused and took the win, it was one of the toughest games this season.

Rebels U10's

Rebels played Lions Black and took the win with a impressive scoreline 18 to 8. The 10's have swaped over to Zooka ball and all the players are really enjoying the change, like Jake Glover smashing a home run over the cones and Mathew McAlpine with a standup double to centre.

Round 12 of the winter baseball

The U8's had a great game against the Wolves with the score close throughout the whole game. Some excellent batting from Inika Booth and Belle Hanna sore the Rebels take the win 21 to 16
