5th grade Royals played from behind after the Wooducks started strongly to lead 5 to 0 after two innings. After holding Wooducks scoreless in the 3rd, Royals responded with 3 of their own thanks to good hitting from Wayne Turner and Keith Wilson. Wooducks put on one more in the 4th and Deb Brown, Jack Denny and Wayne Turner loaded the bases to give Royals a chance to snatch a come from behind victory.
Unfortunately it was not to be with the final out of the game a close call at 1st. Wayne Turner had two hits with Jack Denny, Keith Wilson and Des Ho all had a hit each. Keith Wilson and Des Ho both pulled in great catches in the outfield and Jack Denny was solid in his first game at 1st base.
Coach Darrell Duncan was pleased that the team put themselves in with a chance after a shaky start and is looking forward to a better result next week against the Wildcats side.
