1st grade Rebels prevailed in a tight evenly contested game, Rebels got home against Indians with a 3-2 victory. The defence from both sides was high quality and this made it difficult for either team to cash in on their hits.
There was none better in the field than Rebels Scott Sharman who made 5 plays from 3rd base. Both teams got solid starts from their starting pitchers with Michael D'Abo pitching 7 strong innings for Indians, including 10 strike outs.
Rebels got 5 innings from Alex (Knight Rider) Hoff and he was followed by Damien Kingman for 3 innings with Pat (My Crutch) Maat getting 2 strike outs in the final innings to close the game with Rebels in front.
For Indians Josh Main and Craig Wilson both had two hits with a hit each to James McGiver, Sam Brown, Michael D'Abo and Mick Webber. For Rebels Alex Hoff and Pat Maat both had two hits with 1 each to Matt Smith, Scott Sharman, Todd Bowden and Damian Kingman.
